Skin Care Supplies
Imagine you could toss out your makeup bag and trash any mis-matched skin care items in the bathroom cabinet. What skin care supplies would you choose? Would your choices be the same as you had or would you explore different products? Before making any purchase of skin care supplies, you must discover your skin type. Is your skin dry, oily or combination of these? Just having an oily feel in the T-zone around the mouth and nose area does not mean you have oily skin. Most likely you have combination skin. People with oily skin have no problem identifying their type. Some people have consistently dry skin while others experience dry skin in certain environments. Once the skin type is determined, then the choices are immediately reduced by two-thirds. Fine department stores present skin care systems with elaborate, fashionable displays. While attention is captured on these products, it is easy to forget many other important skin care supplies. Here are some basics needed by every skin type. Cotton Balls - Store in a closed container to keep these clean. A decorative glass container can be both practical and attractive way to store cotton balls. Cotton balls are more gentle on the skin and eye lids than using face tissue. Cotton swabs - These inexpensive cotton swabs do double duty for applying eye shadow, smudging eye liner or dabbing concealer under the eyes. Take a cotton swab with a touch of make up remover to correct small errors such as one eyeliner that sweeps out too far. Lighted mirror - A stand up mirror with lighting that simulates outdoor day light, office fluorescent light and evening light is a worthwhile investment that can be purchased for less than fifty dollars. Hair clips - Keep hair out of your face while applying makeup by clipping bangs and side hair back. This also helps you to avoid a foundation application that ends abruptly at the end of the bangs instead of going up to the hair line. Make up cape - Avoid the frustration of rushing to get dressed for work only to drip foundation or liquid liner onto clothing. You can find a less expensive, sturdy makeup cape at a beauty supply store. Brushes - Some skin care products have brushes, however brushes wear out with use and need to be replaced. Inexpensive cosmetics have low quality brushes that don't hold up well with use. Either way, brushes are as important among skin care supplies as they are to artists. Buying high quality brushes at the department store or boutique cost two to three times more than the same style and quality of brushes in the art department. A fan brush is a fan brush, the only difference is bristle quality. To save money, shop at the craft store and use the weekly discount coupon in the newspaper or online. Some of the practical, skin care supplies can be purchased at discount stores, grocery stores or craft stores. Think about what you need to support the skin case products and have all the supplies on hand.
